Saturday, November 22^nd will be the date for an elegant affair that will include a delicious dinner and an evening of dancing with live music. The beautiful Renaissance Ballroom is located on the second floor of the old Huntington High building at 900 Eighth Street. The open room and large dance floor will be a beautiful setting for the evening.

Live music will be provided by The Rhythm Kings. This four piece band, led by Mike Campbell, has played for dance events around the state for over 20 years. The band plays all of the old favorites as well as more contemporary music for dancing. People with no dance experience can also enjoy this event. Paul and Gail Patton of Top Hat Ballroom will be teaching a dance lesson after dinner as an introduction to ballroom dancing.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM. The dance lesson will begin at 7:30 PM. The band will play from 8:00 – 10:30 PM. Semi-Formal attire is requested; coats and ties for men and evening wear for women. Who says Halloween is just for kids? You are invited to come and have a good time dancing with us on November 1st. Costumes are encouraged but not required. You might want to dress up in an entire costume or you might think about just a tip of your hat to Halloween with a few of these ideas:a hat and scarf; an eye patch; a wig; extra make-up or jewelry; a Halloween sweater or other piece of clothing; anything else you can think of! As always, we will have great music and a pleasant atmosphere for dancing. Some snacks and soft drinks will be provided. You may bring snacks to share and alcoholic beverages if you wish. 7:30 - 10:30  $10 per person.

Brian McNamee and Leigh Bradshaw of The Best of Ballroom in Cincinnati will be at Top Hat for private coaching sessions and a workshop on November 15th. The workshop will be on frame and lead/follow skills for Smooth dancing (Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango). Brian and Leigh make learning proper technique rewarding. You will be amazed at how much your dancing will improve after putting their instruction into practice! 

Private coaching is $75 for 45 minutes and the one and a half hour workshop is $50 per couple. The workshop will be scheduled at noon to give those who are going time to get to the Marshall game. There will be a sign up sheet in the studio or send an e-mail if you would like to reserve a spot.

The classes will meet on Monday evenings beginning October 20th and run for six-weeks through November 24th. Paul and Gail will be teaching Foxtrot and Salsa. We are pleased to announce that we will have an evening of live music provided by The Rhythm Kings on October 4th. This three piece ensemble has played for many ballroom dance clubs around the state. Many of you may have danced to the music of Mike Campbell who is the keyboard player for the band. They know ballroom tempos and rhythms and they enjoy playing for dancers. You are sure to have a wonderful time!

Brain and Leigh are great dancers and very positive coaches! We are pleased to have them come to Top Hat for an afternoon clinic on August 9th. There are a limited number of private lesson spots available at $75 per 45 minute session. Book your spot early so you don’t miss out!
